1. Q: Where is Ukraine located?

A: Ukraine is the second largest country and situated in the south-eastern part of Europe. Its capital is Kyiv.

3. Q: Is the University recognized or affiliated by any board of education or any other Educational Council?

A: Yes. It is recognized by Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine.

4. Q: Is V.I. Vernadsky Taurida National University recognized in my country?

A: Taurida National University has the highest-ranking accreditation at Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine. It has the ASIC accreditation, ISO certification and also it is affiliated member of CHEA.

6. Q: Are students allowed to work during the studying?

A: No, students are not allowed to work, because you receive only Studying Permit.

7. Q: Can students apply for the Work Permit after completion of the program?

A: Yes, they can apply for the Work Permit.

8. Q: What is the language used in everyday life and studying in Ukraine?

A: The languages for everyday life are Ukrainian, Russian and for studying – Ukrainian, Russian and English.

9. Q: What is the currency used in Ukraine?

A: The currency is hryvnia (letter code UAH, digital code 980)

10. Q: What is the preparatory faculty and is it obligatory?

A: Preparatory faculty is a special educational program with duration of 10 month. At the preparatory faculty students study Russian or Ukrainian language and special disciplines required depending on the future specialty. Preparatory faculty is not obligatory if you already know one of these languages.

11. Q: Can we pay the tuition fee in installments?

A: Yes, you can pay the fee in installments.

12. Q: What will be my average month expenses?

A: Usually the expenses for first month of staying in Ukraine are more than those of the subsequent months. You will need about 400 USD for the first three months of staying in Ukraine. This is due to the reason that the student would need to pay the registration charges, purchase items of necessity etc. Subsequently, the average monthly expenses for food are about US$ 100-US$ 150.

13. Q: Where are students accommodated during studies and what is the cost?

A: Students live in hostels provided by University. Depending on the type of dormitory the price may vary from 50$ to 150$ per month. Also, students may live autonomously and rent an apartment, but it will be more expensive.

14. Q: When is the beginning of vacations in University?

A: At the end of January the students who have successfully passed all tests have one week of rest. Students who have academic debts try to pass through their tests again. Summer vacations last 2 months, from July, 1 till August, 31 every year. As for the degree course (5 years), winter vacations last 2 weeks from the last week of January till the first week of February every year. Summer vacations are the same as at the preparatory faculty — from July, 1st till August, 31st every year.

15. Q: Is it possible to travel by Ukraine and to the other countries during the studying?

A: Yes, you can travel during summer and winter vacations.
